Reading is Everything and then some.

 At Taska Damansara Utama we  work hard to cultivate a love of reading with the kids.   


We do it because we know books are a key marker for any academic  success.  Cultivate a love for reading and the kids will learn even when we are not teaching. 



Every year  a budget of thousands are put into books. The kids blitz through them and soon we need to find new books to replace worn, torn books and we need fresh titles. 

All the performers are natural readers, the kids struggling are late sleepers, device hogs and those with dusorders. 

Going quiet and reading …… is not a given. Its a carefully planned and enticed activity. Cannot be forced  yet it can be subconsciously groomed….. by example. 

Create the environment, provide the material and give it time. Reading is worth it and one good book beats a thousand hours of Roblox or Minecraft. 

So read and read to them. No ifs, buts, whys or excuses. A book or a kindle but enough with the gaming or cartoons. Make this the only option at home as a free time activity and you have begun grooming your own PHD.

This month we bid farewell to our Anna. she leaves us as she begins to enter the International School system starting in the fall. We have had her since she was just a wee toddler and now 4 years have gone by. She stole our hearts just as sure her older brother. Both of them showed and started at Taska Damansara Utama as wee toddlers. Thet joined the  Elite Kids  Kinderhgarten program at PjKK Learning Steps Academy and the rest was history. She speaks Bahasa and Mandarin like a native as well as Malaysian Engrush haha.   We will never get enough of her  and her brother.  They have won their way unto our hearts forever.   The parents are both great teachers as well and have raised outstanding lovely children. We do it together and it takes a village to raise a child. The USS Learning finally sails into Damansara Utama !

 Our new sails are here and we are super excited!  These sails will allow.play time in  the mornings and even in the noon hours which can be challenging. Sleepy Baby? When and how much sleep? You need to know this parents. Hear us out.

  Often times,     we get this same ole question.     it’s one of those questions that I believe most parents already know the answer to, but they are almost afraid to confirm it as it involves some feelings of guilt haha.   That question is….. How many hours should their kid or kids sleep and what time should the littles get to bed. They are almost always sheepish when they bring up this subject and I think we all know why.  My answer here may differ from many Internet articles but it is entirely based on my observation of our kids at the daycare. The amount of sleep your child needs is a simple question actually. The recommended hours are between 10 to 12 hours a night.    But the reasons why the parents are asking are never simple.
