Happy New Year 2023!

We are finally launching our blog! This blog will be co written by Teachers and Students alike.. it will be informative yet a tool for teaching as well. 




I am Teacher Michael. Owner and operator of Learning Steps Sdn Bhd which also owns Taska Damansara Utama and Learning Steps Academy. My parents founded the Taska and are still here with me making sure I keep to high standards. Madame Lui my mother has been the heart and soul of our schools, but with dad, Mr Lui Thai Heng  at her side they established the very first taska /  nursery / childcare in Damansara Utama 40 plus years ago. Madame Lui is a retired school principal with decades of experience in teaching children and helping them to blossom. 











and my father Lui Thai Heng had a meritotious career in MCA back in the days when MCA was led by Lee San Choon. My father served as political secretary and devoted himself to helping all who needed assist at Wisma MCA.  








In that time hundreds of children have come through our doors. Maybe over a thousand! Our old students have even given birth and are now sending their own children to the daycare. 

Due to the unique services we provide many kids stay on with us from entering the daycare as two month old babies to attending our Learning Steps Academy all the way to form 3.  That is a 15 commitment and its actually the norm here! 

We have also helped many Malay children in the PJ area  whom are eager to enter the SJKC stream. Our Malay students have done exceptionally well at Chinese schools and many are prefects and top scorers! In their class. 

This blog is almost getting too big   We will do a multiparter.  More on our humble beginnings to come !  Until next time Happy New Year and we will see you soon gang!

This month we bid farewell to our Anna. she leaves us as she begins to enter the International School system starting in the fall. We have had her since she was just a wee toddler and now 4 years have gone by. She stole our hearts just as sure her older brother. Both of them showed and started at Taska Damansara Utama as wee toddlers. Thet joined the  Elite Kids  Kinderhgarten program at PjKK Learning Steps Academy and the rest was history. She speaks Bahasa and Mandarin like a native as well as Malaysian Engrush haha.   We will never get enough of her  and her brother.  They have won their way unto our hearts forever.   The parents are both great teachers as well and have raised outstanding lovely children. We do it together and it takes a village to raise a child. The USS Learning finally sails into Damansara Utama !

 Our new sails are here and we are super excited!  These sails will allow.play time in  the mornings and even in the noon hours which can be challenging. Sleepy Baby? When and how much sleep? You need to know this parents. Hear us out.

  Often times,     we get this same ole question.     it’s one of those questions that I believe most parents already know the answer to, but they are almost afraid to confirm it as it involves some feelings of guilt haha.   That question is….. How many hours should their kid or kids sleep and what time should the littles get to bed. They are almost always sheepish when they bring up this subject and I think we all know why.  My answer here may differ from many Internet articles but it is entirely based on my observation of our kids at the daycare. The amount of sleep your child needs is a simple question actually. The recommended hours are between 10 to 12 hours a night.    But the reasons why the parents are asking are never simple. Sometimes it is even heartbreaking.  Some parents work strange hours, other parents work very late hours and this translates to them not having much time with their kids.
