Our Girl a bonafide champion.
We call her The Stingray. A true daughter of Damansara Utama as she has lived her whole life in our neighbourhood. She began at Taska Damansara Utama and now at the Learning Steps Academy @ Pusat Jagaan Kanak Kanak D Utama. This princess owns thecourts at the park nearby. She has been with us since she was just a toddler and is now a champion in sports and academics at our Academy program. She is a sprinter and basketball star at SJKC Yuk Chai. Trained by our coach Teacher Michael, he created a great athletics program for the kids and soon discovered her special talent and in just a year she was raking in the medals. Last count is 12 in just the last year. We wish her all the best and her studies are stellar too She is typical of the kids at our daycare, as many join and stay with us for a decade. The Finals - Article #1 The 13th January 2023, The Finals are one of the toughest things students had to go through, especially for the seniors who are about to graduate. Finals are usually the hardest examination throughout the year. I still remember back when I was a freshman, the examination would be as easy as “pi”. Most people would hope to pass the exam as it’s the minimum that is expected, but over here, I on the other hand not only hope to pass but also to ace all my tests. So there I was, feeling high and ready for my exam results, while saying goodbye to my old school and saying hello to thoughts of my new middle school. Reading is Everything and then some.
At Taska Damansara Utama we work hard to cultivate a love of reading with the kids. We do it because we know books are a key marker for any academic success. Cultivate a love for reading and the kids will learn even when we are not teaching. Every year a budget of thousands are put into books. The kids blitz through them and soon we need to find new books to replace worn, torn books and we need fresh titles. All the performers are natural readers, the kids struggling are late sleepers, device hogs and those with dusorders. Going quiet and reading …… is not a given. Its a carefully planned and enticed activity. Cannot be forced yet it can be subconsciously groomed….. by example. Create the environment, provide the material and give it time. Reading is worth it and one good book beats a thousand hours of Roblox or Minecraft. So read and read to them. No ifs, buts, whys or excuses. A book or a kindle but enough with the gaming or cartoons. Make this the only option at home a

At Taska Damansara Utama. We have seen it all , pretty much. Drop offs we mean :) Parents must never forget to repeat the same. It costs you nothing, and the littles are literally powered by your love. All those little things add to their confidence in taking on the day, in facing the trials and tribulations of learning, in fending off bullies at daycare…heaven forbid. But these actions you do as you bid your little princess or prince goodbye….. forms an invisible shield. Once endowed with these they walk off with a little skip and sunshine literally shines from their little hearts. I have spent a life time greeting kids and parents at the door. I am an expert at seeing what works by now. So kneel… and look them in their eyes, hug and hold them close as you tell them you love them and will come bring them home later and to have the best day…..kiss because they can’t shrug u off yet haha….
